Dr. Jim,
When ever I run I get this nagging pain in the muscle that runs down the center of my glute to the mid portion on the back of my quad on the left side. I also feel some pain in my lower back on the same side. I have tried stretching this muscle and massage and it still comes back everytime I run. I can walk upstairs and put weight on it and it doesn’t hurt. When I lift my leg or try and walk is when it hurts the most. I did see a chiropractor a few years ago and I was told that my right or left hip ( can’t remember which) was 15mm lower than the other. I’m not sure if this may have something to do with it. Any suggestions??
Jim
Hi Jim, Dr. Jim here. The description of your pain leads me to think you may have an imbricated facet at L4 or L5. There is also a possible sacroiliac issue which is usually related to a problem in the cervico-thoracic junction in the upper spine. Are you a stomach sleeper? We should check it out!
