The use of NSAIDs (IBprophen for i.e.) during exercise

For those of you who know me well, know that I have lots of back and knee aches and pains due to my injuries. I used to take IBprophen all the time to try to alleviate the pains- especially during and after running. I keep reading about how bad NSAIDs when chronically used, so I am trying very hard not to take them unless I really need to.

I’ve been using chondroitin and glucosamine daily, doing functional strength training on the bike and run, and doing core exercise to minimize my pain. It is working pretty well. I haven’t had to take much IB lately. I hope this will continue as my mileage increases.

Anyway, I thought you would like to read this article. David is the Dr. I met at my USAT coaching clinic in March. He was the one to explain the repair antioxidants do to your tissues after exercise. Not to mention he is a great triathlete and member of the USAT national age-group tri team. I really respect his opinion.

Knowledge is power! Take the info as you will :-)
