I'm still in W. Virginia. I'll be driving back today (Sunday) in the rain-lovely. I will write it all up for your reading pleasure on the ride home :-) It was fun. I'll send you my schedule for working out this week.

Marie,

You HAVE to hydrate and not worry about going to the bathroom at your race. If you don't, you will have cramps, and worse won't be able to finish your race. You probably cramped because you were dehydrated, but your muscles could have been tired too. Either will cause cramps. Make sure you aren't doing too many bricks or back to back hard workouts. You don't want to get hurt.

Drink, drink, drink! This will become even more important as the weather gets warmer.

My calf totally cramped up today on a brick, enough so that I thought I was going to fall flat on my face....I did work it out with a little stretching and walking. I think it was a combination of (a) working out in the afternoon, which I never do; (b) dehydration - I did I very aggressive hilly long bike first; (c) some kind of nutrition issue. Also, on the subject of dehydration....I do NOT want to have to Pee during the race....I tried to drink a little bit more the day and evening before, what's the best way of addressing this issue?
